Lead in Lipstick???

Lipsticks Contain Lead???

I just read an article in the Los Angeles Times reporting on product safety. The article stated that several of the major brand skin care companies are selling lipstick that contains lead. (For the sake of legalities, I am not going to mention the names of these Major Brand skin companies even though the Los Angeles Times did.)

What the article stated was that tests were conducted on 33 brand-name red lipsticks and the results were that 61% of the lipsticks tested had lead levels of 0.03 to 0.65 parts per million. Lead, we are talking about lead that women are applying to their body everyday. We all know about lead poisoning. What is going on?

The article went on to say that One-third of the lipsticks tested contained lead in excess of the FDA’s 0.1 ppm limit. I was blown away. I was shocked that the FDA would even allow any lead in a product that people are applying to their body. Is is just me or is this way out of line?

When you read articles like this, you have to wonder what other products that we are using our bodies everyday that are harmful to our health. I have read where there are studies that show that people with Alzheimer’s disease have a higher level of aluminum in their system. Do you know that many of the under arm deodorants that we use contain aluminum to prevent us from sweating?

Please, have a look at organic skin care products and check the labels on these products to make sure that you are getting a 100% organic skin care product. For a website where you can find organic skin care products that you can trust, have a look at the

Organic Skin Care

Organic skin care products that are certified by the United States Government: (USDA) as being organic will make you look great, feel great and you will be doing something great for our environment. Are you ready for a change? Are you using organic skin care products that you were told were organic, only to find out that they have many chemicals included? Well what I would like to talk to you about is a line of products that are truly good for you. These skin care products were the first to be designated as organic by the USDA. But first, let’s talk about what the skin care companies are doing.

I recently read an article publised in the Wall Street Journal stating that it is rumored that the US Government may force companies that sell skin care products to label their products, such as the Government did to the cigarette companies. Does that scare you? I mean it did me. What they are saying is that many of the companies that produce the skin care products, have so many chemicals in their products that the consumer needs to be warned of the dangers of using that product. We have been bathing our children and purchasing these products for our families and were not told of the harsh chemicals that we’re being exposed to. That makes me angry. It made me so angry that I went out in search of products that I knew were safe.

A lot of study has gone into organic products. And one needs to educate themselves about what is organic and what isn’t. Did you know that a lot of the skin care companies believe that anything that has carbon in it is organic. That also means that they get away with using oil in their products. Yes, the type of oil that drilling rigs drill for deep into the earth. The kind of oil that you place in your car. And you ask yourself, how can this be? Well the answer is that oil is made up of decaying leaves and trees over millions of years. This also means that because oil is made of decayed leaves, and the leaves are carbon based, then the oil is also carbon based. So there you have it, how does that make you feel?

So, what can you do? Well, you need to become an informed consumer. You need to read the labels of products. I know that it is a lot of work and you feel safe when you are purchasing name brands. That is where the you can be very wrong. Look at the labels of these name brands. Read the ingredients. You will be amazed what you are being sold.

You might be asking yourself why these big companies would do such a thing. And the answer is that they have felt the pressure from the public to offer organic products. They have products that have made millions of dollars and they don’t want to drop these lines. So what they do is make a few changes by adding a few organic ingredients and then they label these products as organic. Some companies feel that if they have as much as 30% of the ingredients being organic, then the product is organic.

The news isn’t all bad. There are good companies out there with great products. I finally found a place where you can purchase organic shampoo, organic soaps, organic makeup, organic deodorant and much more that . I use the products and love them. They are the real organic products. Made with the products that only Mother Nature provides us with. Check them out at the website: Organic Skin Care and see for yourself. You can make a change for yourself, your family and the environment.
